Carlene Scholtz

Picture
Carlene Scholtz was born in Harfield to Michael & Sylvie Heugh. With her family home on Cambridge Street, Carlene has fond memories of her childhood in Harfield - particularly her grandparents' home at 60, 2nd Avenue (the double-story flats), and her father's work at the butcher on the corner of Rutland Street & 2nd Avenue.

Her grandparents were Ebrahim (Boetie) Galant and Janap (Hatta) Galant & they had six children: Sylvie the Oldest, Moegamat (Gamat), Abduragmaan (Maanie), Gasant, Ismail (Mailie) and Gairoe the youngest. Gairoe married Tapie Hendricks from Harvey Road who is now an active member of Claremont Reunited Alliance & still works in Claremont. Carlene's uncle, Manie, married Latiefa Mustapha from McBrides lane.

Carlene attended Livingstone High School & graduated in 1968.,
